Esoteric was founded in July 1992 in Birmingham, UK by Greg Chandler and Gordon Bicknell. They play very slow extreme music known as Funeral Doom Metal with elements of death metal, psychedelica and progressive rock. The band had few live performances in the 1990's and since 2003 has actively been playing on tours and festivals.

Esoteric is the fourth studio album by Swedish metal band Skyfire. It was released on 14 September in the United Kingdom, 18 September for the rest of Europe and October 13, 2009 in North America, through Pivotal Rockordings. The cover artwork was made by Pär Olofsson who also created the artwork for other acts such as The Faceless, Psycroptic and Spawn of Possession along with the layout by Erik Olofsson of Cult of Luna

ESOTERIC formed in July 1992, after the gathering of five individuals, inspired to create dark, innovative music that was evocative. UK Experimental Doomsters ESOTERIC are set to begin recording their seventh full-length album on the 11th April at vocalist/guitarist Greg Chandler's Priory Recording Studios in Birmingham. The as yet unnamed album will be the long-awaited follow up to 2011's "Paragon of Dissonance" and is expected to be released on Season of Mist during 2019 tar, Mark Bodossian on Bass, Greg Chandler on Guitar and Vocals, Joe Fletcher on Drums, and Jim Nolan on Guitar, are anticipating completing the album in May.
