Best Collective Soul Songs interactive top ten list at TheTopTens®. Run deserves a higher spot on this chart. The lyrics are so soulful. How does this so not make it to the top three. I love this whole album Come on people. 7 Where the River Flows. Should be much higher. Possibly the best song of an underrated album. This song helped me through some hard times. So epic! Thank you . I was shocked to come on this page and not even see this song on the list. Come on people this song is incredible. Really good song should be at least #11.
It would not have been surprising if Collective Soul had become a one-hit wonder. Straddling a line between '80s arena rock and jangling, '90s alternative pop, their debut was a pleasant affair that became a multi-platinum smash. They don't tamper much with that sound on Collective Soul, but the results are every bit as enjoyable due to the engaging melodies that lead singer Ed Roland and company seem to create at will. The hits included the infectious "Gel," sarcastic, mid-tempo "December," and the lovely, soaring ballad "The World I Know.
